Sharon Abramowitz est une anthropologue médicale américaine, auteure de l'ouvrage Medical humanitarianism. Ethnographies of practice. Elle est venue parler de son livre et de son expérience lors d'une conférence du Crash, organisée le 23 octobre 2017 au siège de Médecins Sans Frontières.
Elle a consacré une partie importante de son travail aux réponses aux épidémies – et dernièrement à Ebola, et à l’Afrique de l’ouest. Cette rencontre a été l'occasion de revenir sur la contribution de l’anthropologie médicale à l’action humanitaire et sur les derniers projets de l'auteure.

Sharon Abramowitz is an anthropologist and a visiting researcher at the Department of Anthropology at Rutgers University, co-editor of recently published "Medical humanitarianism. Ethnographies of practice". She has devoted much of her work to responding to epidemics - most recently in Ebola, and in West Africa, Liberia in particular.
During the conference organized by MSF-Crash on 23 October 2017, she discussed the contribution of medical anthropology to humanitarian action as well as her last book and most recent projects.
