Legendary batsman Rahul Dravid has termed Anil Kumble's exit as India head coach very unfortunate. He has expressed disappointment at the manner in which former teammate Anil Kumble was made to quit his role as Indian team's head coach. Lauding the iconic leg-spinner's immense contribution to Indian cricket, the 44-year-old put forth his displeasure at the way in which the entire episode played out in full public view. Dravid said,"I think the whole thing got played out in the media which is very, very unfortunate for Anil and not fair on him at all. So, what's the reality of it and what happens behind closed doors is not something I'm privy to, so I can't comment directly. But it was definitely an unfortunate episode, especially to someone like Anil who has been an absolute legend of the game, someone who has done more to win Test matches for India than anybody I know. And he had a successful year as coach as well. But the fact is that it should never have played out the way that it did publicly,

राहुल द्रविड़ ने कहा है कि अनिल कुंबले के साथ जोभी हुआ उससे वो बहुत दुखी हैं | द्रविड़ ने नाराजगी जताते हुए कहा, “मीडिया में जिस तरह से सारी बातें सामने आई वह अनिल के लिए काफी बदकिस्मती की बात है और यह उनके साथ गलत हुआ।” द्रविड़ ने आगे कहा, “सच क्या है और बंद दरवाजों के पीछे जो हुआ उसके बारे में मुझे कुछ नहीं पता इसलिए मैं उस पर टिप्पणी नहीं करूंगा। लेकिन अनिल जैसे दिग्गज जिन्होंने भारत को इतने सारे टेस्ट मैच जिताए हैं, उनके साथ जो कुछ भी हुआ वह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण था। लेकिन ये बात सच है कि ये मामला जिस तरह बाहर आया, वैसे नहीं आना चाहिए था।” द्रविड़ ने ये भी माना कि खिलाड़ी कोच से कहीं ज्यादा ताकतवर होते हैं।
