On-Demand 3D-Printed Hand Grenades And Land Mines Tested

The U.S. Marines are testing 3D-printed containers that can be packed with explosives and readied in only a few hours.

The explosives can range in size, from hand grenades to land mines. Small, portable 3D printers are already used in combat zones, creating on-demand mini-factories that allow Marines to print parts as needed.

Instead of lugging them around, the new explosive containers could one day enable soldiers to design and print explosives on the go.
