Defender Virgil Van Dijk says Southampton is "an amazing club" and it is "beautiful to play in the Premier League" for them.

The defender also reveals his hero growing up was Ronaldinho and he supported Barcelona.

Van Dijk was all smiles as he and fellow defender and Japan international Maya Yoshida fooled around at a media day by signing each other's shirts.

Van Dijk, reportedly a summer transfer target for Liverpool, was speaking at a press conference for Junior Journos alongside fellow Saints Yoshida, Fraser Forster and Steven Davis.

Southampton play away at Brighton on Sunday in the English Premier League.
