Doctor And Former Senator Tom Coburn Says Trump Has A ‘Personality Disorder’

A former Republican Congressman who is also a trained medical doctor has said that President Trump has a “personality disorder.”
In a recent New York Times report about the president’s standing within his own party, Dr. Tom Coburn, who served three terms in the House before being elected to the Senate, said, “We have a leader who has a personality disorder.”
While the doctor didn’t elaborate on Trump’s mental health, it has been a topic of speculation by others.
Some Democrats, including California Representative Jackie Speier, have even reached out to practitioners about the president, with the Congresswoman explaining to BuzzFeed News, “It’s one thing from my non-professional, non-clinical standpoint [to] believe that someone does not have the capacity to do the job, it’s another thing to talk to experts and [those] who can deal with mental psychosis on a daily basis, so I wanted to hear from them.”
This is a concern she has been expressing for a while.
“POTUS is showing signs of erratic behavior and mental instability that place the country in grave danger. Time to invoke the 25th Amendment," Speier tweeted in August.
Trump has also sparked discussion among mental health professionals who typically refrain from voicing their opinions about someone they have not evaluated first hand.
In fact, one expert, Prudence Gourguechon, who supports speaking out about observable behaviors, has admitted she "can confidently say" that a prior Trump tweet about MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski showed “a lack of discipline and self-control.”
Despite the speculation, Trump has spoken highly about his own mental abilities. “I went to an Ivy League college, I was a nice student, I did very well, I’m a very intelligent person…I think the press creates a different image of Donald Trump than the real person," Trump recently told reporters.
