President Trump is set to declare the opioid crisis engulfing the country a nationwide public health crisis. The Department of Health and Human Services will put the limited 90-day declaration into effect Thursday. It will allow for expanded access to telemedicine services, as well as federal agencies to move around some existing grant money to focus on opioid-addicted patients. More than 64,000 Americans died last year as a result of the opioid epidemic.
