Hazrat Davud (pbuh) prayed God for the coming of Mahdi (pbuh)

ADNAN OKTAR: David (pbuh) prayed to God to ask for Mahdi (as): “My dear God! You told me that you will create a generation for me. Therefore, your servant had the courage to pray to you. My Lord, You are God. You gave this beautiful word to Your servant. You chose to bless Your servant’s generation to last forever before You. Since You blessed it, it will stand in that way forever”. That generation is the one which ends with Mahdi (pbuh).
