The curator at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Ground in Pune, Pandurang Salgaonkar, has been accused of ‘allowing people to tamper with the pitch’ on the eve of the second ODI between India and New Zealand, in their ongoing three-match series. According to India Today, its reporters ‘disguised as bookies’ had the pitch curator agreeing to prepare the pitch according to their demands. The report added that a clear violation of rules from ICC and the BCCI was witnessed when the curator allowed the reporters to inspect the pitch themselves. When asked if he could prepare the pitch in regards to two players wanting extra bounce, Salgaonkar replied by saying “it will be done”.

भारत और न्यूजीलैंड का मैच को लेकर पिच फिक्सिंग के आरोप सामने आए हैं। एक टीवी चैनल के स्टिंग ऑपरेशन में सामने आया है कि पिच को बैटिंग और स्पिनर्स के हिसाब से तैयार किया गया है। इस मामले में पुणे क्रिकेट ग्राउंड के पिच क्यूरेटर पांडुरंग सलगांवकर का नाम सामने आया है। इसके बाद उन्हें इस मैच से अलग कर दिया गया है। अब बीसीसीआई का पिच क्यूरेटर पिच की देखरेख कर सकता है। मैच से पहले बीसीसीआई के कार्यवाहक सचिव अमिताभ चौधरी ने कहा कि मीटिंग के बाद ही मैच के होने पर फैसला लिया जाएगा।
