The 50's - Eisenhower, the Bomb & the Third World is the fifth episode of the documentary series.

In it,Oliver Stone and his collaborators tries to examine the presidency of Dwight Eisenhower,the prosperity of the United States after the war,the relationship between the U.S. and the Soviet Union,the participation of the United States in the Korean War and the nuclear armament of the the country that led to the nuclear arms race between the Russians and the Americans.It also explored further the efforts of the United States to prevent the spread of Communism globally through their Containment policy and the effect of the death of Joseph Stalin which contributed to the detriment of the US-Soviet relations.Aside from that,the conspiracies being tackled in this particular episode are the doctrine of the Nuclear annihilation,the rise of the Military Industrial Complex as a force in the U.S government and the growth of McCarthyism.Finally,the legacy of Eisenhower presidency on the country and the change of the country's global role was part of the narrative.
