Starting from the core, the Dark elixir storage is in the dead center surrounded by hidden teslas, and separated by walls, 2 tiles away. So any ranged unit cannot shoot it from over the wall (except the archer queen). Same with the inferno towers, there is 2 tiles in between the inferno tower and the walls so that they are much more difficult to get to. The town hall and eagle artillery are on polar opposite sides of the base, to force the attacker to choose either target the top or the bottom. Xbows are decently centralized, so they can reach almost everywhere in the base, but most importantly they can all reach the core (DE storage) There are the big bombs in between the x bows in case any ground troops even make it that far. To keep them away from the DE. The Air sweepers are covering 1 of the air defences each, on the top and the bottom. So if the attacker is smart they will go for the un covered air defence. So that is where I put all the air traps (i.e. air mine and air bomb) so that their lava hound or air troops will fly right into it. Next to the 4 outside wizard towers are storages, since they are some of the tankier buildings, they will take longer to get through so that the wizard tower can snipe at them while they are beating away at the storages. The heroes are placed at the bottom to defend the town hall in case they are just going for trophies and are un interested in your dark elixir. There are also enough buildings on the bottom so that if they get to your Th they will get to that 30% mark and you will get a shield! The mortars are placed on the outside of the walls, that was done on purpose, to mess with funneling with any ground defence targeting troops (golem and giants) as they will veer off their path straight to those mortars. The mortars also have big range so they can fire their shells into the base to help defend. The point defences are quite simply just placed around the base, spread out enough and close enough together to deal with a queen walk if one so decides to try. Besides all that it is a fairly straight forward base that worked extremely well for me in Champions league while I was farming for my heroes. I hope this little explanation helps you out!
