Cumbria river near bursting point after heavy rain

Footage has emerged of the River Kent near bursting point in Kendal, Cumbria, following heavy downpours.

In the video, filmed this morning (October 11), water can be seen rushing through the culvert at Stock Beck river.

Some roads and schools have already been closed in Cumbria.

Four new flood warnings have been issued for Cockermouth and Egremont by the UK's Environment Agency. It brings the total number of flood warnings in the region up to six, with 18 flood alerts, according to local reports.
