Program to track guns from shootings gets a boost
  • 7 years ago
The Justice Department is getting serious about a gun-tracking program that will not prioritize firearms involved in shooting incidents. Within a 24 hour period, the requesting agency will receive information on the gun and the owner who first purchased it. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the changes and added he was updating the 'Project Safe Neighborhoods' program. We have updated it and enhanced it, emphasizing the role of our US attorneys, the promise of new technologies and, above all, partnership with local communities.
