Making My Kitchen Island - With LOTS of Storage!

Building your own furniture is great, not only do you get to enjoy something you made, but you also get to completely customize it to your every need. With this project I did just that, I used common materials that where readily available and inexpensive, sized it to fit my kitchen perfectly and built in a ton of storage which created a much more functional kitchen. The entire island can be made from materials from you local hardware store. While a lot of tools and materials where used to build mine, other tools and techniques can be substituted to make the project suit your skill level and available equipment. While I use a soft wood and paint the base in the end, you can use any wood youd like and finish the base with paint, stain or any finish you prefer. This was an especially satisfying project for me, being the largest project Ive built in the new shop and most involved video Im made so far. I hope you all enjoy the video.
