Kitesurfers in northwest England have made the most of this morning's blustery conditions, reaching heights of several metres above the sea.

The video was filmed today (October 5) in Fairway, Fleetwood, Lancashire.

Heavy rain and strong gales of between 40 and 50mph swept through parts of the country this morning.
