A spectacular display of over 30,000 fireworks lit up the skies over Victoria Harbor in Hong Kong in commemoration of the 68th anniversary of the the People's Republic of China as well as the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China.

Around 300,000 Hong Kong residents and tourists watched the 23-minute fireworks show, which incorporated eight themes including "Set Sail," "Sail on," "Victorious Hands" and "Love in Hong Kong."

Since Mid-Autumn Festival takes place during National Day holiday this year, the fourth scene of the fireworks show, entitled "Journey," depicted a homecoming reunion celebration with a "golden magic ball" in the air resembling the moon in the sky and balls of various colors representing China's 56 ethnic groups.
