Crowdfunded Bamboo School Is Giving Kids In Delhi Slums A Chance To Learn
  • 7 years ago
These kids in the Delhi slums didn't have a real school — that is until two Indian architects came up with a bamboo-based idea.

The kids were studying in a temporary structure built in an area prone to flooding. Because of the unstable structure, their education was affected. Two Indian architects came up with an idea to build a more permanent, low-cost modular school with woven bamboo walls.

After raising money via crowdfunding, the school finally had enough money to be built, accommodating up to 250 students. Now these children have a safe place to learn, giving them a future that's just a little bit brighter.
