Chaos in Spain as Catalan independence referendum has begun

Catalonia's disputed independence referendum rapidly descended into chaos on Sunday after Spanish national police raided polling stations and confronted with voters. The Spanish government has pledged to stop the poll that was declared illegal by the country's constitutional court. Thirty-eight people have been injured, most of them lightly, according to Catalan emergency services.
