Daniel Bryan Says He's Growing His Hair Out For A Match in the CMLL 2018 (Daniel Bryan vs. Atlantis, or Danyel Bryan vs. Rush) | WWE
  • hace 7 años
Daniel Bryan continued to fan the flames of speculation for his in-ring return during his and Brie Bella's latest Q&A session on Instagram (h/t Reddit). Bryan's hair is beginning to reach the length it was during the latter part of his WWE career, but it's not simply a fashion statement. Bryan said he hopes it would lead to Lucha Libre matches in Mexico.

In the video, Bryan commented that his hair looked weird and Bella pressed him to reveal why he's growing it out. Bryan was coy at first, but then he revealed his plan.

"We don't need to talk about why I'm growing my hair out," Bryan said. "It may or may not be because I want to do apuestas matches in Arena Mexico. It may or may not be that."

"That's what he wants and that's what he keeps telling me," Bella chimed in.

In Mexican wrestling luchas de apuestas, which translates to "matches with wagers," are a commonality where wrestlers in heated rivalries would put their masks on the line in a mask vs. mask match to put an end to the feud. Also common are mask vs. hair matches and hair vs. hair matches, both of which would suit Bryan just fine.

"Imagine a hair vs. mask match vs. Atlantis, or a hair vs. hair vs. Rush," Bryan said.

William Arturo Muñoz González (born September 29, 1988) is a Mexican luchador or professional wrestler, better known by the ring name Rush. Muñoz's father Arturo Muñoz is also a professional wrestler, currently working for CMLL under the ring name Pierroth, while two of his brothers also currently work for the promotion under masks and the ring names Místico and Dragon Lee. After originally starting his career in 2007, working for various independent promotions under the ring name Latino, Muñoz was signed by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in 2009 and given the ring name he currently performs under. Working as Rush, he is a former CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion, CMLL World Tag Team Champion, CMLL World Trios Champion and two-time Mexican National Trios Champion.

Atlantis (born September 28, 1962) is a Mexican luchador enmascarado (masked professional wrestler), working for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) where he performs as a Técnico (face or "good guy" character). Atlantis was trained by Diablo Velasco, made his in-ring debut in 1983 and has always wrestled under the ring name Atlantis, named after the sunken city of Atlantis. Atlantis has held a large number of professional wrestling championships over the years, both in Mexico and in Japan, both individually and as a tag team. He has also won the mask of several prominent wrestlers through his career including Kung Fu, Mano Negra,Villano III, Último Guerrero and La Sombra.

Atlantis earned the nickname El idolo de los Niños (The idol of the children) as he was always a favorite with the younger fans. He even retained the nickname when he worked as a Rudo (a wrestler who portrays the bad guy) for several years Atlantis' real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. In the 1990s Atlantis starred in a couple of Lucha films, including one where he teamed up with Octagón called Octagón y Atlantis, la revancha ("Octagón and Atlantis, the revenge").
