Major League Baseball is on course to have more than 40,000 strikeouts this season. As of Friday morning, the MLB was sitting at just under 39,500 strikeouts with projected models saying that the 40,000 mark will be breached on Sunday. This season has already bested the previous strikeout record of 38,982, which was set last year.
