Quick Tutorial on how to disassemble and reassemble a 2016 2017 version WD My Book 4TB and mod it to allow use of another drive inside enclosure. This will void your warranty. \r

I didnt want to take any chances backing up my data onto the WD drive using the enclosure because WD forces a hardware encryption on the data so if the enclosure ever fails you have no way of recovering the data because the drive can only be read inside the enclosure it came in. Ill rather stick the drive into my desktop and use any drive laying around to put inside the enclosure. But I had to do some basic stuff to get that to work. Mod also stops excessive load cycles.\r
