Don't expect to see hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics
  • 7 years ago
The NHL pulled the plug on the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea after sending players for the past five Games. Why won't you be seeing players like Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby? It all comes down to funding the players insurance costs, which the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to stop doing as of next year. The NHL also doesn't think a break before hockey season would be such a great idea. What does this mean for the 2022 Winter Olympics? That'll be up to the IOC to decide.
