LEGO City Train 7996 Double Crossover Switch Track - Why so much?

Lego City Train 7996 Double Crossover Switch Track - Why so much? - From 2007 - 4 pieces. Answering Mardigrasman23 question about why this costs so much in the aftermarket. It had a limited run and is out of production. Has a design flaw. If you try to leave it in the center position, trains will likely derail, so it makes it awkward to run to trains side by side on parallel tracks. This regularly sells for $100-$130, even used. Still a popular track to have and looks nice on a layout with RC (Power Function remote Control - No conducting rails) track.\r
