Sickness In Her Soul - The Witchs House/Majo no Ie Progressive Symphonic Rock Instrumental Tribute

Ellen would make a great demon, dont you think? Well regardless of what you think I know that she would. You would too if youve read Fummys novella The Diary of Ellen. Reading the official back-story to the entire game has rekindled the flame of obsession that I had with The Witchs House. The amount of depth to the entire story is simply exquisite.\r

Now on to the reason behind why this track was composed.\r
\r
This is basically a fan-made battle theme. I imagined Ellen in a fighter game situation- something similar to Mortal Kombat or BlazBlue- and I really just couldnt help myself. The song itself ually loops at the halfway point, and its to reflect how a battle theme would loop if it were playing during the fight. \r
\r
The title Sickness In Her Soul comes from the f that Ellens heart and mind had been warped to an irreparable state, which is covered in the official novella. She basically adopted the typical mindset of a demon or devil after living for so many years surrounded by death and sickening visions. Shes what one would call pure evil though I ually sympathise with her on many levels, as she has sound reasoning behind her ions as cynical and selfish as shes become at heart. The only exception to that would be her decision to torture Viola, which was nothing short of needless. In my eyes- and even in her own words- she simply accepted the f that she was human, and embraced the core of human nature which is selfishness. The entire concept of such a thing is undoubtedly tragic, and when Ellens memories flood into Violas soul even she says that she understands where Ellen was coming from despite all of the wrongs that had occurred. Viola is still disgusted and torn by Ellens mindset of course, but she realized just how tragic reality really was and it broke her heart. \r

The idea that Ellens sickness is now in her soul rather than her body is what inspired this piece, alongside imagining her- whether shes possessing Violas body or not- in a fighting game.\r

Its cool to imagine her as a Souls Series boss too haha.\r
