Do you like Wi-Fi? You are going to love Li-Fi.

While Wi-Fi is short for Wireless Fidelity, like good old Hi-Fi and High Fidelity, Li-Fi stands for Light Fidelity. Fidelity of transmitting information and data, through light.
For a bit of background, this term Li-Fi was first proposed in 2011 by a professor of mobile communications at Edinburgh University (Scotland) during a TED conference.
However, history fans would say the first demonstration of Li-Fi communications dates back to…1880, when Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, unveiled his photophone, a device that could transmit the sound of his voice over several hundred meters using sunlight.

Today, the development of Li-Fi is linked to the development of light-emitting diodes or LEDs.
