Mexico City Landmarks Lose Power as Earthquake Shakes Capital

Webcams captured some of Mexico City’s most well-known landmarks losing power on September 7, as an 8.2-magnitude earthquake rattled the city.This video shows the Monument to the Revolution, Constitution Square (informally known as El Zócalo), and Central Alameda Park in Mexico City losing power as the earthquake struck.At least 37 people were killed by the earthquake in southern Mexico, according to Mexican news reports citing officials. Properties were damaged, and in some cases entirely destroyed.The epicenter of the quake was located off Mexico’s southwest coast, about 470 miles from Mexico City, in the state of Chiapas.
