Video has emerged showing the rescue of a stricken sheep that had falling into the UK's famed River Wye.

The footage, captured on August 27 on the River Wye, shows one of the men freeing the sheep that had become entangled in weeds by the river bank.

He then pulls the sheep into his canoe before taking it to the bank of the river lifting it onto dry land.

''Whilst canoeing along the River Wye, one of my fellow paddlers noticed a sheep that had fallen into the river,'' the filmer later wrote online.

''I set about to rescue the stricken animal and I was successful,'' he added.
