Heartbreaking Final Moments Between Officer And K-9 Partner Caught On Camera

Images posted by the Middletown Police Department show the final moments between an office and his K-9 partner.

Humans and animals can form very deep bonds over the years, and having to euthanize one’s companion is described by many as being among the toughest decisions.
WJW reports, Officer Michael D'Aresta of Connecticut’s Middletown Police Department recently had to put down his long-time K-9 partner, Hunter, who was suffering from rapidly progressing liver cancer.
As D’Aresta carried the dog to the doors of the veterinarian’s office on Friday, a number of his fellow officers lined up on either side of them, offering Hunter a final salute.
The department posted to Facebook about the emotional goodbye, sharing photos and a message of support.
It wrote, in part, “Officer D'Aresta and Hunter have been an exceptional team serving the City of Middletown...since 2007. So as you can imagine, this is extremely difficult for Mike and his family.”
The post brought an outpouring of support from the public, with many expressing condolences to D’Aresta and gratitude for Hunter’s years of service.
