History in the making! Los Angeles cancels Columbus Day

The L.A. city council voted 14 to 1 and the second Monday in October will be known as Indigenous Peoples Day. Los Angeles is now joining the ex-Columbus Day club with places like Alaska, Seattle, and San Francisco. Italian-Americans weren't too open to the idea because they felt a portion of their history would be erased. But city lawmakers agreed that the state shouldn't sponsor a celebration of the genocide of indigenous peoples.
