Washington Veteran Tells Vanity Fair Ivanka And Jared Are Irrelevant

A recent Vanity Fair piece addresses the evolving influence of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner in the Trump administration.

For a time, first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, who are both senior advisers to President Trump, were seen as a moderating force in the White House, notes Politico.
In cases such as the president’s comments on the violence in Charlottesville and his recent ban on transgender people serving in the military, their limits are evident.
According to a Washington veteran who spoke with Vanity Fair, the two have also not had a great deal of success in maneuvering the ways of Washington.
The individual told the magazine, “What is off-putting about them is they do not grasp their essential irrelevance. They think they are special.”
According to The Cut, "However, they do excel in one area: waging war within the West Wing." Multiple reports have cited them as key figures in chief strategist Steve Bannon’s recent departure from the White House.
Vanity Fair also reports that Ivanka and Jared may leave Washington, D.C. as soon as spring of 2018.
For now, both continue to work on creating legacies.
Politico notes that Ivanka is still championing paid family leave and child care tax credits, while Jared remains committed to making innovative technologies a part of the U.S government.
