As temps rise, a look at one of Paris's vast cooling networks

As high temperatures sweep France once again, a look inside the refrigeration network responsible for cooling office space in Paris-La Défense, Europe's biggest business district. The system works by pumping ice water over 14 kilometers of tubes, supplying a cooling that would otherwise require some 100,000 individual air conditioners.
