Uber’s C.E.O. Search Is Nearing a Decision
Meg Whitman, the chief executive of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, on Sunday emerged as the likely candidate to be selected as Uber’s new chief on
Sunday, according to two people with knowledge of the process, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the details were confidential.
Uber’s eight-member board met throughout the weekend to decide on a new leader for the company, which has been
without a chief executive since the co-founder, Travis Kalanick, stepped down under pressure on June 20.
Mr. Immelt presented to Uber’s board on Friday, as did the unidentified candidate, said the people with knowledge of the process.
The slate of candidates had narrowed to three people, according to people with knowledge of the process.
SAN FRANCISCO — The search for Uber’s new chief executive may be nearing a conclusion.
Uber declined to comment, as did a spokesman for Ms. Whitman
