President Trump promoted Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke's book in a tweet on Sunday.

Days after Donald Trump announced the pardon of former Sheriff Joe Arpaio amid significant criticism, the president promoted a book by another controversial figure on Sunday.
Trump said in a tweet, "A great book by a great guy, highly recommended!"
The book referenced, "Cop Under Fire: Moving Beyond Hashtags of Race, Crime and Politics for a Better America," is authored by Trump supporter Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke.
As ABC News notes, "Clarke is a conservative firebrand known for his cowboy hat. He has called himself 'one of those bare-knuckles fighters' and has been critical of what he has called the 'hateful ideology' of the Black Lives Matters movement."
Furthermore, according to New York Daily News, "Clarke is at the center of several lawsuits accusing him and his employees in Milwaukee County of neglecting and abusing inmates..."
Numerous Twitter users reacted to Trump's tweet, including many that were critical of the post.
One commenter said, "Have any more controversial executive orders or pardons you need to make during a natural disaster?"
Another remarked, in part, "Trump is a fan of sheriffs who believe they are above the law."
