A science envoy for the U.S. State Department recently resigned, writing a letter of explanation to President Trump that apparently includes a message.
Daniel Kammen, who works as a nuclear engineering professor at the University of California, Berkeley, posted that letter to Twitter on Wednesday, and many quickly noticed that the first letter of each paragraph spelled out the word ‘IMPEACH.’
In resigning, Kammen made it clear that he was leaving his post, “…in response to your attacks on core values in the United States. Your failure to condemn white supremacists and neo-Nazis has domestic and international ramifications.”
He further notes, “Particularly troubling to me is how your response to Charlottesville is consistent with a broader pattern of behavior that enables sexism and racism, and disregards the welfare of all Americans, the global community and the planet.”
Kammen also expresses his dismay over Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement and his undermining of “energy and environmental research.”
