Trump Retweets Fox News Story About Him Possibly Asking McConnell To Step Down

President Trump retweeted a Fox News story on Friday which discusses the possibility of Mitch McConnell stepping down.

Following his repeated attacks on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in the past several days, President Trump on Friday retweeted a 'Fox & Friends' story, headlined, "Trump fires new warning shot at McConnell, leaves door open on whether he should step down."
This seems to be another sign that the president may call on the senator to step down if he doesn't deliver on the GOP agenda.
When asked about the possibility of that scenario, Trump told reporters Thursday, "If he [McConnell] doesn't get repeal and replace done, he doesn't get taxes done...meaning cuts and reform and...infrastructure...if he doesn't get that done, then you can ask me that question."
Trump has been publicly criticizing McConnell since the senator said during an event in Kentucky on Monday that the president has "excessive expectations" about the legislative process.
“Our new president, of course, has not been in this line of work before," McConnell said. "And I think he had excessive expectations about how quickly things happen in the democratic process.”
Trump tweeted a response Wednesday, “Senator Mitch McConnell said I had ‘excessive expectations,’ but I don't think so. After 7 years of hearing Repeal & Replace, why not done?”
In another tweet Thursday, Trump wrote, "Mitch, get back to work and put Repeal & Replace, Tax Reform & Cuts and a great Infrastructure Bill on my desk for signing. You can do it!"
