North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands, which includes South Sentinel Island, in the Bay of Bengal. It is home to the Sentinelese who, often violently, reject any contact with the outside world, and are among the last people worldwide to remain virtually untouched by modern civilization. As such, only limited information about the island is known. Nominally, the island belongs to the South Andaman administrative district, part of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In practice, Indian authorities recognise the islanders' desire to be left alone and restrict their role to remote monitoring.

आकाश से यह एक सामान्य-सा आइलैंड जैसा ही दिखता है, लेकिन असल में यह एक खतरनाक आइलैंड है।नॉर्थ सेंटिनल नाम के इस आइलैंड पर बेहद रहस्यमई जनजाति रहती हैं। इन लोगों ने आधुनिक सभ्यता को पूरी तरह रिजेक्ट कर दिया है और दुनिया से इनका संपर्क जीरो है। कहा जाता है कि ये जब भी दुनिया के किसी शख्स से मिलते हैं तो हिंसा के साथ ही। आसपास में नीचे उड़ते हवाई जहाजों का ये पत्थरों से स्वागत करते हैं।इतना ही नहीं टूरिस्ट के अलावा मछुआरों के लिए भी यह आइलैंड बेहद खतरनाक है। 2006 में यहां के जनजातियों ने कई मछुआरों को मार डाला था।ये जनजाति करीब 60,000 सालों से रह रही हैं। इन लोगों को Lost Tribe भी कहा जाता है।कुछ रिपोर्टों में इसे दुनिया की सबसे अलग-थलग रहने वाली जनजाति करार दिया गया है। बंगाल की खाड़ी के पास स्थित इस आइलैंड के लोगों की जिंदगी में भारत सरकार भी हस्तक्षेप नहीं करना चाहती।
