Car-smuggling donkeys nabbed by South African police

LIMPOPO RIVER, SOUTH AFRICA — South African cops have nabbed four donkeys trying to smuggle a jacked car near the Zimbabwe border.

The thieves were using the vehicular mules to smuggle a stolen Mercedes Benz across the dry Limpopo river, according to a post on the South African Police Service page.Their nontraditional GTA-like venture quickly turned to ash when the animals became tired.

The suspects hauled ass into a forest on the Zimbabwe side of the border when they caught wind of the cops.

Wondering didn't the thieves just drive the car? The BBC reports this might be because that most modern cars are now fitted with a engine-activated tracker.
