Several top members of the Trump administration reportedly attend a White House Bible study held every week.
According to a recent piece by the Christian Broadcasting Network, or CBN, this group regularly consists of Cabinet officials “Health Secretary Tom Price, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Agriculture Secretary Sunny Perdue, and CIA Director Mike Pompeo...”
In fact, many of these officials are listed as White House Cabinet Sponsors of the group which holds the sessions, Capitol Ministries, whose stated mission is “to evangelize elected officials and lead them toward maturity in Christ.”
As the group’s leader Ralph Drollinger said to CBN, “These are godly individuals that God has risen to a position of prominence in our culture.”
Meanwhile, Vice President Mike Pence is another sponsor while Trump receives the weekly sermon.
Splinter News reports that “[Drollinger] established a presence on Capitol Hill back in 2010, when [he] and his wife, Danielle, began holding weekly sessions for members of Congress.”
His program has since expanded to include separate weekly Bible studies for U.S. representatives and senators in addition to the one for Cabinet officials.
