ADNAN OKTAR: Imam Mahdi (as) will appear in the wake of the second coming of the Prophet Jesus Messiah. Because, Europe would not pay heed to anyone except Jesus Messiah, nor would the USA. There is only one person the Christian community would pay heed to, and he is Jesus Messiah. The Islamic community, too, has remained leaderless for centuries. There are leaders, none of whom are capable. They are would-be leaders. Muslims has lately been unable to appoint a common leader. Why? Because, people will never swear allegiance to any person save Mahdi (as). Muslims will never unanimously grant authority to anyone, because current leaders are all affiliated with one sect or another. The leader has to be a Qur'anic Muslim. In other words, he has to be a leader designated by the Prophet (saas). He has to be chosen by God, not by the people. And God's chosen is Imam Mahdi (as). They are vehemently opposing Mahdi's leadership, but them doing so only serves for the benefit of the Mahdi movement and it is a sign of Mahdi's (as) coming. They know that Mahdi (as) will appear eventually; this is why panic sweeps through them. Such level of opposition against Mahdi (as) is abnormal. Out of sheer panic, they started giving sermons in an attempt to belie Mahdi's (as) coming.
