Nick Clegg 'begs for second Brexit referendum and says young people should have TWO votes'
CHIEF Remoaner Nick Clegg has called for a second Brexit referendum and has fused his plea with a cunning plan to entice young voters to back him. Speaking at the Buxton International Festival in Derbyshire, Mr Clegg  reportedly said: “It’s only in a very weird world that June 23 (referendum day last year) is a year zero.“This idea of a cornucopia where everyone from the US to Papua New Guinea will give us everything we want in terms of trade deals, the £350 million a week for the NHS… we know these things are not true already.“Surely the public are entitled to say we want to have another look at this."We should reclaim our right, we should take back control of our destiny, we should be free to say whether we think (the outcome) measures up to what was promised.” He added: “We should give every youngster under 30 a weighted vote of twice the value of everybody else, because it’s their future.”The Remoaner lost his Sheffield Hallam seat last month amid the Prime Minister’s shocking snap election.Mr Clegg’s call for another referendum comes weeks after he said the issue of Brexit is becoming “quite a lot of bother”.

Attacking Theresa May’s cabinet for “flailing around cluelessly” amid Brexit negotiations, the Remoaner suggested Brexit should be abandoned altogether. However, his change in stance to reignite calls for a second referendum comes as he suggested he may be retiring soon.Reflecting on his career, Mr Clegg, 50, in contrast to Mrs May, 60, and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, 68, said he had enjoyed "a good innings". He added: “You live by the sword and you die by the sword.“I have just lost my seat. I don’t think you should cling on to past glories."But quick to push his future aside, he launched another attack on Mrs May, reducing her to a “rather small politician” as she “disenfranchised the losing side” in the EU Referendum. Mr Clegg said the will of Remainers has been ignored throughout the Brexit process so far, and claimed their ideas are fundamental to securing a good Brexit deal.He added: “In a mature democracy, if you have such a divided country, you can’t disenfranchise the losing side."You can’t say to 16.1 million people, ‘we don’t care what you think’.". 00FastNews.
