The group of scientists have created a cheap and effective “air ambulance” that can be remotely piloted to a person in need of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.The range of the drone, which was created in collaboration with MTI’s Aerospace Laboratory and the Russian medical equipment company Altomedika, reaches more than 30 miles.Despite its merits, bringing this concept to market will still be a challenge. Building drones that are capable of delivering a defibrillator is an achievement, but integrating them into existing emergency response systems, while complying with drone safety regulations, will be the next hurdle.
