Mark Cuban continues to speak out against President Trump--this time, reportedly blasting him for potentially making it harder for another billionaire to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate, notes the Associated Press.
The Dallas Mavericks owner is quoted as saying, “He's not setting the best example.”
However, Cuban also indicated that he may be up for challenging Trump in 2020. Cuban told the audience at the recent OZY Fest in New York, “If he lasts four years, I'll be there to kick his a**.”
But he cautioned, “We'll see. I'm not making any proclamations yet.”
The outspoken billionaire who backed Hillary Clinton has previously been coy about the possibility of entering the political arena; although he told the Washington Post in March that he had no interest in running for president, he also said, “But at the same time, sometimes you got to do what you got to do.”
Cuban and Trump have traded barbs in the past; in one instance, after Cuban predicted that America’s financial markets would tank if Trump won the election, Trump responded by calling him “not smart enough to understand what we are doing.”
And in April, Cuban gave the president a C-minus for his first 100 days in office, explaining that there have been “No major policy changes at all. Signs a lot of executive orders that he doesn't truly understand.”
Cuban wasn’t the only one at OZY Fest to criticize Trump; during a panel discussion, former Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush questioned his priorities, saying, “[Trump] unleashed five tweets today about stuff that jeopardizes his legal situation, insults somebody, goes back to the 2016 election, none of which is relevant to getting tax relief done, regulatory reform done.”
