Emergency services and rescue workers in Dunedin on New Zealand’s South Island remain on high alert on July 22 after torrential rain left highways and swathes of land flooded.A state of emergency and evacuation orders were issued for a number of regions including Waitaki, Christchurch, and Dunedin after 89 millimetres of rain fell over a 24 hour period, the NZ Herald reported.
