Daniel Toigo filmed as an unmanned motor boat circled on Lake Gage, Indiana, on July 16, striking a police boat in the process.Ten occupants of the boat were ejected when the Ski Nautique vessel operator, 20-year-old Dominique Effinger, made a violent high-speed turn. Four people were seriously injured as a result. Two were flown to a nerby hospital with injuries that included a skull fracture and a partial lower arm amputation. Effinger was later arrested for boating while intoxicated, causing injury and being in possession of alcohol. The video shows the out of control boat striking the dock and hitting a nearby officer’s patrol boat, the patrol boat was disabled due to the impact.Toigo captured the video while out at a local diner with his family. A friend informed the group of what was happening as they were making their way back to his home.Toigo told Storyful the incident was “terrifying.” He continued by saying “the DNR and Sheriff were very lucky as the boat sped at them after striking a boat lift and then on top of the back of their boat.” Credit: Daniel Toigo via Storyful
