Vape Battery Explosion in Woman's Purse Caught on CCTV

The battery of an electronic cigarette, commonly known as a vape, caught fire inside a passenger’s bag at Ploschad Pobedy underground train station in Minsk last weekend. CCTV footage released by Minsk underground shows a bright burst of light and subsequent fire from the woman's purse before it was put out by a metro worker. Most electronic cigarettes are powered by a lithium-ion battery, which can overheat due to external temperatures.
