According to TMZ, Shia's lawyer claims that his client is not an alcoholic because he doesn't need to drink, the problems begin when he chooses to consume.
It's reported that Shia has vowed to remain sober during the duration of his movie shoot for "The Peanut Butter Falcon," and then will seek further help once the film wraps.
Also, TMZ reports that Shia has been nothing but professional during his time in Savannah so far, so his arrest for drunk and disorderly conduct was a surprise to cast and crew.
Furthermore, Shia doesn't just want to pay a fine and get a slap on the wrist. He wants to do something substantial for the Georgian city when his professional duties are complete.
