Journalist Questions Theresa May and David Davis Over Brexit at Spectator Summer Party
  • 7 years ago
Journalist Nimrod Kamer confronted Prime Minister Theresa May on July 13 at the Spectator magazine’s summer party, to ask her about rights for European citizens in post-Brexit Britain.Kamer told May that he was a Romanian citizen “about to be deported”, to which she laughingly responded, “No you’re not, we have a citizens’ rights paper.”Kamer then told May that he felt that what was being offered to EU citizens in Britain was not as substantive as what the EU wanted, while May said that Britain’s offer was “very similar, one of the key differences is the European Court of Justice”.In the video Fraser Nelson, editor of the Spectator, tells Kamer that he ought not to be worried, saying “everything will be fine”.Later in the video Kamer comes across David Davis, the Brexit Secretary, and tells him he’s looking forward to the final figure on the so-called Brexit bill, saying that they should “pay for the NHS instead”.In 2016, Kamer interacted with Rupert Murdoch and Nigel Farage at the 2016 Spectator party.
