ULTRA MARATHON® 105K
122 runners took the start to face the test of the BUFF EPIC TRAIL, the Ultra Marathon 105k, a race that undoubtedly claimed its epic status.
In the refuge of Saboredo (51.8km) when Yeray Durán and Pau Bartoló were leading the race with variations in the first position, a severe thunderstorm endangered the viability of the race. Because of the constant instability of the weather conditions, the organization decided to stop the race in Espot (67.5km) and inform the riders who were arriving at the points of Espot and Estany de Gento (81,5km).
Only those riders who had passed the Estany de Gento point at the time the race stopped, could continue to finish as they were out of danger area. Thus, Gerard Morales won with the victory (13:27:22) followed by Luis Duarte (13:33:39), Miguel Ángel Sánchez (13:48:31) and Ernest Ausiró (14:04:08).
The women's classification was based on the order of arrival at the Espot point (67.5km), which was where the race was cut: Judith Franch (09:37:44), Leire Martinez (09:50:32) and the Runner of the BUFF® Pro Team Manuela Vilaseca (10:27:31).
