The arts-and-crafts retailer Hobby Lobby is about to pay $3 million for smuggling clay artifacts. The Oklahoma-based company illegally imported ancient artifacts from Iraq into the U.S., according to prosecutors. The artifacts were shipped to the U.S. through the UAE and Israel via cylinder seals that were falsely labeled. Hobby Lobby said it started collecting artifacts seven years ago with the intention of preserving them.
