US car sales plummet for the fourth month in a row

Auto retailers announced Monday that June marks the fourth consecutive month of low new vehicle sales. Lightly used vehicles are creating some competition for new vehicle sales, and companies are attracting customers through discounts. Customers are also purchasing trucks and SUVs more than passenger vehicles, The average length of a car loan has reached an all-time high of 69.3 months. Autotrader senior analyst Michelle Krebs.
