Maria Menounos Leaves E! After Brain Tumor Health Scare

Maria Menounos is taking a break and stepping down from E! News while she recovers after having a brain tumor removed in a recent operation.
The TV host made a statement, saying “I’m so grateful for the past three years at E!. I had such an amazing time co-hosting with Jason Kennedy and working everyday with the wonderful roster of talent on the show including producers, staff and crew. It was such a special, good-hearted group and one I’ll always consider family.”
Speaking of family, Maria’s recent health scare came in the wake her mother, Lisa, battling stage four brain cancer. While Maria’s brain tumor was benign, she recognized her symptoms were similar to her mother’s, so she had a doctor give her an MRI.
According to E! News, Maria wants this to be a lesson… She reportedly says, “I want to encourage people to find some stillness in their life so they can listen to their bodies – and hear what’s going on.”
The 39-year-old is taking her own advice, and will take a break to discover what’s next.
